Zentangles

We started our day with novel study. Students met in groups to discuss Chapter 15 of The City of Ember. There was no time for reading in class. Students should complete the reading of Chapter 16 and complete their response for homework. Our next discussion takes place on Friday.

Science fair car building time was next. One of the cars tested today moved much more than a metre. Students were very excited and inspired to see this.

We continued working on one our Zentangle pinwheels. Students are asked to complete the third triangle section for homework if they did not get done in class. 15 Zentangle Designs and 24 Zentangle Designs

We spent some time preparing for tomorrow’s International Day. Bring in all devices needed for the Madagascar slideshows. Remember to make a sign explaining the dish you are bringing in. Students are to research and dress in traditional Madagascar dress or in flag colours. They may come to school in colours of Madagascar if that is what they choose or change once at school if they are wearing more traditional dress.

 

Students attended French, gym, and math classes today. In math, students worked with rates and unit rates. Students are reminded that a rate is a comparison of two different things and a unit rate compares a quantity to one unit. They discussed and completed questions from the textbook.

For homework they are to complete questions 1 to 7 from the review worksheet. The Unit Test will be written on Monday, October 21^st.
