Glow Zone Trip

We continued learning about the properties of air through hands-on investigations today. We also took up some but not all investigations to discuss and ensure that everyone, as Divyansh calls it, “understands the science’ behind our observations. Students are to complete some ‘fill in the blank’ and some reading pages on their own for homework. We will take these up on Monday. Students are to add any new learning to their ‘Properties of Air’ mind map. Mind maps are due on Monday. Working on the mind map will help students prepare for the properties of air test that takes place on Tuesday, October 29th.
Here a pictures of the experiments we have been working on this week:

Students who have fallen behind with the reading of any of the chapters of The City of Ember or with keeping up-to-date with the organizer should get caught up before Monday in order to be best prepared for writing the book report.

We continued working on our ‘Before Midnight...’ poems. Students who did not go on today’s Glow Zone trip wrote a revised version of their poem using the feedback they received from their peer.

First recess and the last period of the day was used for car building. We have a couple more cars that are moving.

Grade 6s attended French and math class today. In math, they reviewed sketching pictures of objects from models and drawings. Students practiced making models of objects with the linking cubes and sketching them on isometric dot paper. They also practiced sketching 3-D picture of objects on plain paper. For homework they are to complete the worksheet.
