Finishing up the Artwork

We had time for novel study work today. Students discussed Chapter 16 of The City of Ember in their groups. There was some time in class to read Chapter 17. Students who did not get this done are to complete the homework and the response for Monday.

It took a lot of time but students managed to complete their Zentangle squares, assemble their pinwheels and reflect on this art project. The pinwheels will be going up on display next week. I look forward to enjoying seeing them.

Apart from the electric car projects for science fair and portfolio work, we have completed the energy unit. Students took time to reflect on the unit and how they are developing as IB learners. They also gave me feedback on the unit, describing what they enjoyed, what they recommend is removed from the unit, and what they would have liked to see included in the unit. They gave helpful feedback. Thank you, Grade 6s!

Students used the remaining class time to work on their cars. Students had varying amounts of time to work on their cars, as their art and reflections had to be completed first.

Grade 6s attended French, gym, and math class today. In math, students worked on scale drawings and practiced questions from the review worksheet. Students are reminded that both the terms in a ratio should have the same units. For scaling up, they have to multiply with the second term and for scaling down, divide with the second term. The Unit Test will be written on Monday, October 21^st.

November Lunches

The lunch site is now open. It will close Wednesday, October 30th at 3:00pm.
