Art - Finally

We started our day discussing this week’s International Day. Some groups have not completed their research and slide shows. These need to be completed today. Students are asked to make a simple sign and explanation of the dish they will be bringing on Thursday. We discussed dressing up and everyone prefers to be out of uniform. Students are to research and dress in traditional Madagascar dress. They should come to school in uniform and will change once at school.

It was then everyone’s favourite time of day – car building time. A couple more students managed to get their cars to move. There was a lot of celebration when this happened.

Language time was used for novel study. Students met in groups to discuss Chapter 14 of The City of Ember. There was some time for reading in class. Students should complete the reading of Chapter 15 and complete their response for homework. Our next discussion takes place tomorrow.

Students attended French and math classes today. In math, students took up the mid unit review. They reviewed scale drawings and practiced questions on solving problems using ratios. Students are reminded that both the terms in a ratio should have the same units. For scaling up, they have to multiply with the second term and for scaling down, divide with the send term. The Unit Test will be written on Monday, October 21^st.

For homework, students are to complete . The unit test will take place on Monday, October 21^st.

We began working on one of our major art projects for this term – Zentangle pinwheels. Ask your child to explain what this project has to do with our energy unit. Students are asked to complete two triangle sections for homework if they did not get done in class.
