We had novel
study time today. Students met in groups to discuss Chapter 8 of The City of Ember. Students had some
time to read Chapter 9 in class. Their response should be completed for
homework if they did not get done in class. Our next discussion takes place tomorrow.
Students
attended French and math classes today. In math, students began a new unit called Ratio
and Rate. They reviewed the factor tree method to find the LCM and GCF and
practiced few questions. Ms. Joseph discussed converting between metric
units. For homework the are to complete Q 1, 3, 4 and 5 on Pages 42-44.
The class continued
to work on their summative task for our energy unit. Today’s goal was for
everyone to complete their research and complete their graphic organizers. Only
a couple of groups managed to get this far today. We will continue this work tomorrow.
Devices are needed for this summative task on tomorrow and all next week.
Students
should continue their research on Madagascar. Remember to research and prepare
a traditional dish from Madagascar for International Day. Let me know when you
have decided on a dish.
I heard that
students had a good time golfing yesterday. Enjoy some pictures that Ms. Autio
took for us.
