Reflections

We started our day with math. Students wrote their last test for the year. Later in the day, Ms. Joseph returned the marked tests to students and took up the work with them. Look out for tests coming home today. Please take time to review the test with your child. This was the last math class of the year.

Next, students worked on reflecting on their Digital Citizenship inquiry unit and the term as they wrote their report card comments. They then received all work back including exhibition, Digital Citizenship, and novel study. They selected work samples to add to their IB portfolios. All this work, including the IB portfolios, is coming home today.

Students attended their last French class with Mme. Stella and Mr. Oliver.

At the end of the day, students presented their ABCs of Grade slideshow. This was a very enjoyable to listen to and a great way to reflect on the year.

We will away on our Cedar Glen outdoor education trip tomorrow. Students should arrive at 8:15 am as the bus is scheduled to leave at 8:30 am. Students should wear the gym uniform and dress for the weather (hats, sweaters, raincoats, sunblock, running shoes, etc.). We should be back at school by 3:15 pm.

Dandelion Art

We started our day with the graduation speech which the two Grade 6 classes are writing collaboratively. Today’s goal for students was to complete the revision of the paragraphs, type up the paragraphs, and share the paragraphs with me. Next, students volunteers put the paragraphs from both classes together to form a cohesive whole. Later in the day, we had both classes get together to generate the criteria that the class ambassador’s should have in order to be nominated to say the speech at graduation. This turned out to be a lengthy list. Students then nominated students and voted on students. Congratulations to Miriam and Christiaan who will be representing our class.

We completed our last art piece for the year. Student used proportion and space, harmony, and movement and rhythm in their paining of dandelions.

Later in the day, we visited the Grade 4 Artists’ Café.

Students had math class with Ms. Joseph, where they completed taking up all review work. The unit test will take place on Monday, June 10th, at 9 am – Don’t be late. Students are reminded to return all math textbooks on Monday.

Students worked to complete their ABCs of Grade 6 slideshow. Completed slideshows are to be shared with me. We will view the slideshows on Monday.

Students attended gym class.

We still have a number of portfolios missing. Please return these on Monday.
