‘Two Kinds of Stupid’ Report Back

 

We began our day with math. Students used Input/Ouput machines to generate a table that they then graphed. They described the graph and used the graph to make predictions about Input or Output numbers. Students who were away at the soccer trip today are asked to catch up the practice work on p. 206 – 209 of the MMS 7 book. Most students who attended regular class today completed and corrected all work during class time. The unit test for Patterning and Algebra will be written on Thursday, May 31^st.

Next up was novel discussion time where we discussed Chapter 6 of Bridge to Terabithia as a class. Students also shared examples of what Jess’ dad may have said in his diary about his Christmas Day experience. The class was assigned to read Chapter 7 and answer the questions relating to Chapter 7. This is due tomorrow when we will have our next discussion time.

We continued work on our Digital Footprint inquiry unit. Today we discussed the ‘Two Kinds of Stupid’ assignment. Students first completed a self-assessment, then a peer assessment. After this was completed, students shared the news article they had found with the class. Students who were away on the soccer trip today are reminded to submit this work tomorrow.

We ended the day working on our Arts’ Night performance as best we could with much of the class away today. Students are asked to bring in their costumes and props by Friday. Our performance will take place on Wednesday, May 30^th at 1:30 pm and 7 pm. Busing permission forms for this event are coming home today. Please return these by

Grade 6s attended gym, French, and music class today.
