After a grueling 6 weeks working on exhibition, the Grade 6 class got no
rest today. They worked on completing their final exhibition journal entry, a
reflection on exhibition as a whole, and then got started on this term’s assessments
for our new math unit, this term’s DRA, and this term’s OWA. This took all day
and most students have not completed this work. We will work on completing
these tasks before the end of the week.
Students attended French and gym class today.
Students should be working on spelling bee practice in preparation for
the contests. The Grade 7 contest will take place this Wednesday. The Grade 6
context will take place on Monday.
Students are reminded to return their permission form to attend this
week’s MYP Shakespeare production ‘The Battle for Juliet’ on Wednesday, May 9th
in exchange for a donation of a canned food or non-perishable food item. These
forms are now past due. Parents are invited to attend the performance on
Thursday night at UTM’s Mist Theatre. Talk to Ms. Padua at reception for your
tickets. The PYP teachers are hosting a dance for PYP students whose parents
are attending the performance on Thursday night.
Our trip to Cedar Glen takes place tomorrow. Grade 6s are asked to come
to school dressed in their gym uniform. They should bring along water, hat,
sunblock, and any additional items for the weather, e.g. raincoat, sweater,
etc. Everyone needs to arrive at 7:45 am as the bus leaves at 8 am. We will
return at 4 pm.
Students who are participating received a waiver form for Bubble soccer. These are due this Friday.
