Students
worked on their math test during today’s math time. It was then time for the
speech contest. The speeches seem to improve with each passing year, making
choosing the winners a very difficult task. Well done to all participants from
both schools.
After the
contest, we had lunch with our Maples friends, a friendly dabbing contest, and
even some outdoor snow soccer.
At the end
of the day, we continued with our flight unit. We finished off an experiment we
started yesterday and then took up all remaining worksheets in our Duo-tangs.
Students are bringing their Flight Duo-tangs home today in order to complete
their ‘Properties of Air’ mind maps. Everyone has a checklist of criteria that
will be used to evaluate their mind map. Mind maps are due on Tuesday. Working
on the mind map will help students prepare for the properties of air test on
Wednesday.
Please note
that there is no school for students tomorrow as it is a Professional Development
Day for teachers. There is no school on Monday, as it is Family Day.
On Tuesday
after the long weekend, we will begin working on our art project for our flight
unit. Students will need to bring in a t-shirt that they don’t mind getting
very messy with papier mache. Students are also asked to bring in newspapers.
Students are
asked to come to school wearing their gym uniforms on Tuesday for the Jump Rope
for Heart event. Keep collecting pledges and donations.
Students
attended French class today.
