This is just a friendly reminder that our deadline for re-registration is just days away! Currently, we have a number of families on waitlists wanting to secure any vacancies that may be available to them once this deadline has passed.  Therefore, in order to ensure that your child has a secured placement for the upcoming academic year (2018-2019), we kindly ask that if you have not already done so, to please complete and return your child’s registration package to their homeroom teacher as soon as possible.

 Day 5 – Properties of Air

Today we started a unit on ratios and rate in the MMS 7 workbook. We reviewed how to find the greatest common factor (GCF), the lowest common multiple (LCM), and how to convert metric units. Students also wrote part-to-part ratios and part-to-whole ratios. Students should complete the practice work on pages 22 – 27 of their MMS 7 workbooks for homework if they did not get done in class. Students will be writing a test on Wednesday, February 14^th or Thursday, February 15^th.

After math, students worked on their Viking art project. Today’s task was ripping up the sea scene to create the appearance of motion. Students who had not completed their boats, shields, and sails stayed in during recess to get this work done.

We continued working on our flight inquiry unit. Today we took up yesterday’s investigations into the properties of air. Students shared their observations and conclusions with the class. We then continued inquiring into the properties of air with different investigations.

 

Students attended French, music, and gym class today.

Valentine’s Day Cookie orders are due on Friday, February 9^th.
