Day 2 – Lift-Off

 

The Cinderfella performance took place this morning and was very enjoyable. It was wonderful to see everyone in pink to show we stand against bullying.

In math, students learned that repeated addition involving fractions can be written as a multiplication statement. Students worked on practice work involving the multiplication of fractions and also review work for the unit on fractions. Students are asked to complete pages 85 – 86, and 95 - 96 of the MMS 7 practice book if they did not get done in class.

During our Flight inquiry time, students participated in a carousel activity where they practiced explaining Bernoulli’s Principle completely and accurately using a checklist of criteria to guide their explanation. They also took turns listening to someone else explain the principle. Once everyone was confident they did this once more and were assessed by a peer using a scoring sheet. Students will write a test on Monday, February 26^th, where they will repeat this process independently on paper.

 

Later on we worked on flight again. This time students designed and built paper planes and tested them at three different stations for distance, accuracy, and tricks. This was something everyone enjoyed participating in.

 

Students attended gym class today.

Our skiing trip takes place tomorrow. Please note that the departure time for tomorrow is different than our first trip. The bus leaves at 8 am. Students are asked to be at school between 7: 30 am & 7:45 am. Students are asked to bring all the required gear such as snowpants, gloves, change of clothes, lunch, money, etc. We expect to be back at school for regular dismissal time.

• Shortly after completing your order, a Freshbooks invoice will be sent to your email.
