Similar Figures

Today in math, we worked on similar figures. Students were challenged to memorise the rule for similar figures. Ask your child to see if they remember what makes figures similar. Students used protractors to check corresponding angles sizes, and rulers to compare if corresponding side lengths were related. Students are asked to finish up the questions on p. 262 & 263 for homework.

During inquiry time, students used informational sources to read up  and take notes about their chosen explorer. They were reminded to make notes in point form and to have between 3-5 words for each point to avoid plagiarism. Students were also asked to organise the information they are collecting according to the checklist they have been given. Remember to bring a device to school all week, except tomorrow. Students are reminded about the explorers test which will take place on Monday, March 2.

Grade 6s then met in literature circle groups to discuss chapter 9 of Copper Sunrise. They had class time to read chapter 10 & 11 and complete their reflections of chapter 10 & 11.

Grade 6s attended Drama, French, and Gym class. Look out for April lunch forms coming home today.

Look out for a trip letter coming home today.
