Whacky Thursday

Our Fall Fundraiser Assembly took place at noon today. A Grade 2 student was today’s top pledge raiser. She chose to creatively style Ms. Cass’ hair. The assembly included a musical chairs house game.  Tomorrow is Casual Day and the last day to submit pledges. Students are to encourage to allow the idea of pie-ing Mr. OliverJ  drive their last minute fundraising efforts. Remember your devices if you are participating in the electronics party. Students may also visit the snack bar – bring some change.

 

We spent time collecting due work today. This included OPG packages, OPG graphs, electrical safety posters, and energy mind maps. Students who did not hand in this work are reminded to submit it tomorrow.

We watched more videos that might help us generate ideas about building an electric car. Students were required to complete their second thumbnail sketch during this time.

We had novel study time today. Students discussed Chapter 5 of The City of Ember. They had some time to read Chapter 6. Chapter 6 responses are due on Monday. We will not have novel study time tomorrow.

Students attended French and math classes today. In math, students took and discussed up their homework on number patterns. They practiced describing patterns with square numbers and cubed numbers. For homework, they are to complete Question 8 on page 31 and Questions 1 – 14 on Pages 35 – 36. The tentative date for the math test is Monday, September 30.

There has been a change in the bake sale dates. The bake sale has been moved to October 1^st and 2^nd. Our class is responsible for the bake sale that takes place on these days. Students are asked to contribute bake sale items. These MUST be PEANUT and NUT FREE. Thank you.
