Troubleshooting

During today’s inquiry time, students practiced their troubleshooting skills, by examining circuits, finding the problem, and suggesting a solution. They then applied their troubleshooting skills to language, by writing a letter offering troubleshooting advice to a customer. Most students did not complete the letter. They will continue working on it in class tomorrow.

In novel study time, we reviewed the expectations of all the different literature circle roles that students will be using as they prepare for and participate in discussions. Students then had some class time to read Chapter 1 of The City of Ember. For homework, they should complete the chapter reading and the response they have been assigned for tomorrow’s discussion.

Students attended music, gym, French and math classes today. In math, students reviewed the ladder method to find the LCM and GCF of a set of numbers. They took up yesterday’s homework. Students explored the number of factors of all the numbers from 1 to 30. They were introduced to the term square numbers and explained that one way to describe a number with an odd number of factors is to call it a square number. For homework, they are to complete Page 21 - Q 1, 2 & 3.

Look out for tickets if you ordered items from the Welcome BBQ menu. These are coming home today. Please bring these tickets to the BBQ tomorrow where you will be able to redeem them for food items.

Our class is responsible for the Bake Sale that will take place next week Tuesday and Wednesday. Students are asked to contribute bake sale items. These MUST be PEANUT and NUT FREE. Thank you.

Fall Fundraising payments can still be made. Golf trip forms are due this Friday.
