Forms of Energy

Today, we continued our inquiry into energy while applying the listening and note-taking skills we discussed yesterday. Students watched a video about the different forms of energy. We paused and discussed concepts as we went. This video helped students achieve today’s learning goal and success criteria.

Once we were done with the video, students worked on completing their Forms of Energy worksheet. We will take this up in class tomorrow.

Learning Goal: Students will name, identify and describe different forms of energy.

Success Criteria: I can

  • Take accurately and with understanding take notes about the different forms of energy
  • Identify the forms of energy in the video quiz
  • Correctly fill in the blanks on my ‘Forms of Energy’ worksheet
  • Name and define the different forms of energy

Students attended math, French, music and Phys. Ed. Classes today. In math, students discussed the homework from yesterday. They reviewed the various mental math strategies. Students are encouraged to:

- look for 10s or nearest 10

- add or subtract in a different order

- Separate a number into smaller parts to obtain friendly numbers
