Galvani & Volta

It was wonderful seeing everyone in their house colours and their spirit in today’s house games. Zeta hosted a relay race. Well done to Theta for winning the primary race and Zeta for winning the junior race.

In today’s electricity inquiry unit, students used their devices to research the contributions that Luigi Galvani and Allessandro Volta made to electricity. Students applied what they learned with Ms. Hayward yesterday to their note-making. Students have begun work on an Electric Timeline where they will record information about the contributions of scientists and types of electricity.

Ms. Hayward invites all students to visit the library website.

I began administering the oral component of this term’s reading assessment while students worked on their research. I will continue doing this next week.

We had our first art class. We are working on an op art project which used line, one of the elements of design.

Grade 6s attended Math, music, and French class today. Mme. Stella has assigned French homework.

In Math, Grade 6s reviewed bar graphs and pictographs through sample sheets and practice questions.
