First Day of Grade 6 - Day 1

We all felt like our first day went by so quickly. We spent time learning about the exhibition, mindsets, and expectations for Grade 6. We had a walkabout the school to familiarise ourselves with new teachers, classes and the new cafeteria space. Students then began brainstorming ideas for our essential agreement. The purpose of the essential agreement to create a positive learning environment for all students.

We had our first language class today where we inquired into the form of action word poems. Ask your child to tell you about the different lines in an action word poem. Students will be entering the Polar Expressions poetry competition later this year. They will choose one of the poems they write this term as their poetry entry.

Grade 6s attended music, French, and met Ms. Joseph their math teacher. Their math class was interrupted by our first house game for neophyte week. In this game the houses played musical chairs. Well done to Zeta for winning today’s games.

Look out for the Welcome Back BBQ order forms coming home today.

Well done Grade 6s on being quicker on using your locks!
