Peparing for Presentations

Day 6

We began our day with math. We took up yesterday’s problems on the 12-h and 24-h clock and on elapsed time. Most students have got a great handle on strategies they can use to solve these problems.  Today’s work was about estimating money amounts. Students felt they understood this concept well from our number sense unit in term 1. They had the remainder of class time to work through practice work. Many made excellent progress. Students are asked to complete practice work on p. 216 -217 of the MMS textbook.

Next we worked on our flight inquiry unit. We continued exploring our last line of inquiry for this unit: societal and environmental impacts of flying devices that make use of the properties of air. Students used today’s class time to work on preparing their presentation. Some have chosen to create a poster, some are making a slide show, some have chosen to make a video, and one group made great use of class time and was ready to present their work today.  Presentations will take place on Monday.

Students need their devices on Monday to work on our International Day presentations.

The class attended French, music, and gym class today.

One of the students in our class is missing a blazer. Please check at home in case you took it by mistake.
