Poetry Entries - Done

Day 4

Grade 6s began their day attending music with Mr. Andrei.

Once back in our room, they joyfully discovered that there was no math lesson today. We are behind on our Canada’s Exports video project and we would lose our UOI time to the Remembrance Day assembly today. Instead of math, students used this time to work on their videos. There was a lot less frustration and much more success today. Three groups have now completed the project. Today is the last day that class time will be allocated to this project. Recess time will have to be used going forwards to get the work done. Students that have uploaded their video to YouTube should email me the link at mhaag@stjudesacademy.com. Devices will still be needed tomorrow.

We used first recess time to work on our electric car science fair project. We now have 3 students who have completed the entire project, including the completion of their engineering design portfolio. Well done! We have just over two weeks to go till the science fair day on November 24th. Parents, please remember that you are welcome to attend the afternoon session of the fair to see what all the students have been working so hard on in class.

Grade 6s attended French and gym class today.

We had novel study time after second recess. Students discussed chapter 9 in their literature circle groups. Everyone was assigned a new role and received class time to read some of chapter 10. We will have novel study time again on Thursday. Everyone should complete their chapter 10 reading and response for homework if they did not get done in class.

Students chose the poem they would like to enter in the Polar Expressions Poetry Competition and finalised their entry forms. The poems are ready to be mailed tomorrow.

We ended the day attending a Remembrance Day Assembly. The school was an audience to a presentation by Ms. Hocevar’s Grade 4s. They then wrote a letter of appreciation to a soldier.

Look out for pictures coming home today. We have a good looking group of students in grade 6s, as you will see. Scholastic order forms are also coming home today. Picture retakes take place on November 17th.
