Writing the First Draft of the Essay

We still have some IB Portfolios missing today. Please return these as they are long overdue.

It was good seeing so many families at conferences last night.

Today’s class time was used to work on exhibition. Today’s goal was to write the first draft of the essay. We reviewed the steps needed to be taken in order to complete this task. I conferenced with 3 more groups who had completed all their body paragraphs. These groups all have a copy of all body paragraphs written and the feedback they received from me in order to improve the content of the paragraphs. Parents are asked to read these paragraphs and suggest further ways to improve their writing. Please note we are not editing conventions (spelling, grammar, punctuation) yet. Please write directly on the paper copy in ink. Students who did not complete the drafts during class time stayed in during first recess in an attempt to catch up with this work.

During French time, students worked on their exhibition French component. Mme. Stella was available to help students with this component.

Today’s electronics party took place during math time. To make up for this, we had math time earlier in the day. Unfortunately Ms. Joseph was not available as she was teaching in the upper school. She provided the unit review for students to work on. The goal was to work through the review as if it was a test and to complete it in the hour that was given. I managed to check most students work up to Question 2. b). Students are asked to complete the entire review for Monday if they did not get done in class today. The unit test takes place on Tuesday, April 9th. Students should be preparing for this test.

Our last fundraising assembly took place at the end of the day.

Spring fundraising payments for the trip can still be made.

For students who are flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz, please look out for a letter about their costumes coming home today.
