Day 5 – 11 School Days until Exhibition

We began a new math unit about integers today. Students learned that integers are the set of positive and negative numbers. They have opposite pairs, e.g. -1 is the opposite integer of +1, +55 is the opposite integer of -55. Students completed practice integer work on pages 180 – 182 in their MMS 7 books.

We continued working on exhibition for the remainder of the day. Today I met with the remaining three groups to discuss their essay. Groups have permission to work on the typing portion of the essay at home on Google Docs. This is the second draft of the essay and changes made should reflect the revision suggestions made by peers, parents, mentors, and teachers. The typing of the essay should be done fairly by all group members. Students may not delete each other’s work, but may insert comment and suggestion boxes, advising partners of changes that they think need to be made.

Students worked on various components of their exhibition project such as the action, French, art, and math components.

Students are asked to bring a baby and current photo of themselves for Arts’ Night by April 20th. We will try our best to get these back to you after Arts’ Night.

Students are reminded to return their Cedar Glen trip permission forms and their immunization forms by Friday, April 20th.

Spring Fundraiser

SPRING FUNDRAISER!!!!! Our annual Spring Fundraiser is under way. This year our Spring Fundraiser will run from Monday, April 16 to Monday, April 23 (due to the ice storm). Students who collect a minimum of $35, will get to enjoy bubble soccer. Please use the pledge sheet provided and be sure to turn in on a daily basis! Today’s top fundraiser got to nerf gun Mr. Foster. Because students raised $6000, another top fundraiser got to give Mr. Rozario a make-up lesson. Daily prizes remaining for the most amount of money brought in are; getting to sit at your teacher’s desk for a day and pie Mr. Nahi. Remaining school wide fundraising targets will allow students the opportunity to pie a teacher and water balloon their teachers. So, get out there SJA, and raise some money!!!!!
