Exhibition: Media Component

We began our day with math. First we took up yesterday’s homework on rates. Today we worked on strategies and began review work to be prepared for the unit test on Wednesday. Students were asked to complete question 1 – 5 on p. 334 of the MMS textbook. We will work through the remaining questions on Monday and Tuesday.

Grade 6s attended Music class with Mr. Andrei and most groups attended Gym class with Mr. Slyk. Groups that are behind used gym class time and recess time to work on their essays.

The remainder of our day was spent on Exhibition. I met with remaining groups to have our editing conference. All students should have divided up the second draft with edits to be typed up at home. Students should use the essay edits checklist to check their work, and share their essay portions with each other using Google Docs. The first typed draft is due on Monday.

As groups worked on their media components, I met with them to discuss progress on their survey, interview, and action component. Groups need help from parents in finding someone to interview as well as coordinating the interview.

Some groups met with their mentors today.

Students are reminded to work on their digital portfolios. Ms. Ymbang will be available to students to help them with any problems they have had with uploading items next week. She will also be checking that digital portfolios are up-to-date again at this time.

Remember to send in old batteries that you need to safely dispose of. The Grade 1 and 2 classes at SJA will take care of this for you as part of their UOI.

Look out for Summer Camp and Writing Camp forms coming home today.

Please note that squash dates have been changed.
