Exhibition: Media Component & Survey

We spent most of our day working on Exhibition. I met with 6 groups today to conference about the first draft of their media component. Each group has received suggestions on changes that should be made to improve their presentation. At our next conference, I will be checking that these changes have been made.

While meeting with groups, we discussed progress that has been made on the survey, interview, action component, and visual art component. Many groups still need help from parents in finding someone to interview as well as coordinating the interview. We have made getting the survey done a priority yesterday and today. All but two groups have conducted their surveys. Groups are now entering survey results into spreadsheets and creating tables and graphs that will be included in the slideshow. We had a mini lesson where students were taught how to do this using Excel and Google Sheets. Groups are being encouraged to discuss what they would like to do for their visual art component. They should bring in materials they will need in order to begin this work.

Some groups met with their mentors today.

Students who had conducted their surveys attended Gym with Mr. Slyk. The class had French with Mme. Villeneuve.

The Spring Fundraiser dance party takes place at 2 pm tomorrow. There will be a juice and snack bar. Prices start at $1. Students who had ordered sundaes got to enjoy these at second lunch today. Popcorn order forms are due tomorrow.

Remember to send in old batteries that you need to safely dispose of. The Grade 1 and 2 classes at SJA will take care of this for you as part of their UOI.
