Speed

Our day began with math. We carefully took up yesterday’s homework on Input/Output Machines. We took time to discuss the many ways to express the relationships between the properties of figures. We then began today’s lesson on distance, speed, and time. We made sure that students understood what 90 km/h means. Students used this to create a table, an Input/Output machine, a graph, and finally they used it to relate Input and Output. Please complete problems on p. 395 – 396 for homework.

During novel study time, we began by taking up discussion questions about chapters 6 and 7. Student’s participation in today’s discussion showed how much they are enjoying this book. Students then worked independently to read chapters 8 and 9. Students completed study guide pages 31 – 35.

Students used today’s UOI time to write a test, reflect on our art UOI, and finish up their brochures. Students who handed in their brochures worked independently on learning more about Canada and international organizations. Brochures are due on Thursday.

Students attended French class with Mme. Villeneuve and Gym class with Mr. Slyk.
We are skiing tomorrow.
