NAFTA

Our Monday began with math review to prepare for Thursday’s unit test on transformational geometry. Students were challenged to complete questions 1 to 7 of the review work. Students who did not get this far in class are asked to complete this for homework. We will aim to finish the review work tomorrow. All students are bringing their marked review packages home with them today. Please remember to return them to school tomorrow.

The class then had music class with Mr. Andrei. Students will have music class again tomorrow in place of French class.  They also attended gym class with Mr. Slyk.

Next up was UOI time, where we discovered that a large number of students were not ready to present their projects for different reasons. Presentations will now take place tomorrow. We used today’s UOI time to learn about Canada’s trade partners. Ask your child which countries are Canada’s top 10 trading partners and which region of the world these countries are found in. Also ask them to explain what NAFTA is. We began learning more about Canada’s largest trading partner, the US, in the second half of our UOI time. Students are encouraged to become familiar with the US map by visiting: http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/USA_Geography/USA_GL_click_1024.html

Tomorrow is the annual pancake eating contest at SJA. Come ready to eat for your house.
