Input/Output Machines

Our day started with language. Students read and discussed a sample paragraph. They then used an organizer to come up to a paragraph topic. They added ideas for the detail sentences to the organizer in point form.

In math, we began work on a new unit – Number Patterns. We reviewed the learning expectations for this unit and the vocabulary students will become familiar with. We then began our lesson on input/output machines. Students had some class time to work on practice problems. They are asked to complete all problems on p. 8 & 9 on the MMS textbook.

During UOI time, students finished up their work on solving electrical problems. They used what they had learned to write a letter explaining how to solve a particular problem. We continued UOI time after recess, where students conducted an experiment with static electricity.

Grade 6s attended French and Gym class this morning.
