Electromagnets

Our day started with math. We used class time before recess to take up yesterday’s homework on number patterns. After recess we completed a lesson on divisibility rules. Students practiced determining if a number was divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 using the divisibility rules. Students worked on practice problems on p. 15 of the MMS textbook. Incomplete work needs to be done for homework.

During UOI time, we finished up Friday’s lesson on static electric charges. Students completed worksheets to demonstrate their understanding of static charges. We then built and tested an electromagnet. Ask your child how they can build an electromagnet and what the electromagnet was able to do.

We had more UOI time after second lunch. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about their projects. We watched YouTube clips of examples of electric cars. Students have been asked to think about what they have seen and begin forming ideas for their own cars.
Grade 6s attended French and Gym class this morning.
