Shooting the RSA Animations

We began our time together working on speeches. We discussed how to write the counterargument paragraph. Students used an organizer to help them. They began by writing a counterclaim that was followed by evidence for the counterclaim. They then refuted the counterclaim with different evidence. Students who completed this work in class received feedback from me. They should now get parent feedback and write a revised draft of this paragraph. This is due tomorrow.

In our next section of time together, our goal was to complete the shooting of the RSA animation video. For those that were ready, this took a few or more takes. Those that were not ready had to complete their 10-step organizer and prepare all materials for shooting the video. These students did not get to go to gym in an effort to catch up on their work. All students need their devices for tomorrow’s class when they will speed up their videos, narrate them, and upload them to YouTube.

Students attended Music class with Mr. Oliver, French class with Ms. Autio, and math class with Ms. Joseph. In math students …For homework, students are to complete Q. 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 on P. 219.

Mr. Foster’s Farmers Market and Ms. Gandy’s Groceries

As part of their summative assessment the grade one classes have decided to open a market to complement their organization unit. The market will include fruits, vegetables, drinks and other healthy snacks. It will be held in rooms 12 and 18. The market will take place all day Thursday, January 23^rd and Friday, January 24^th. All profits made will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
