Troubleshooting Technology Issues

We began our day working on speeches. I checked all work that was completed for today, editing all paragraphs that were submitted to me. Students that are behind on their speech work need to make it a priority to get caught up. Students that are up-to-date with their work worked on their cue cards, practiced presenting, and worked on memorising their speeches. Students that presented to the class received feedback on how to improve their speech. Speeches must be memorised for Monday.

Next we worked on our Explorers RSA Animate project. Students continued shooting their video, editing the video to speed them up, up removing the original sound track, and narrating a new one using the sped-up version of the video. Students encountered many technical difficulties as they worked on this project. For the final step students need upload their video to YouTube and email me the link: mhaag@stjudesacademy.com.

Grade 6s attended French and math class today. In math students reviewed the questions on finding area and perimeter of irregular figures. They are reminded to divide the figure into 2 or more shapes and then calculate the total area by adding the area of each shape. For homework students are to complete the review package.The unit test for Perimeter and Area will be written on Tuesday, February 5^th.

At the end of the day, students who had completed all their speech and RSA Animate work worked on art. Those who had not completed their Haida art worked on this. Those who had completd their Haida worked began work on their Viking longboat art project. They used pastels to depict a night sky Vikings may have seen as they sailed.

Re-registration packages are due by Monday, February 11.  After this time, spots will be opened up to the public and your child will not be guaranteed a space for next year.  We look forward to seeing you back for next year!
