Day 8
Students
began their day writing the decimals unit test.
Once this
was done, we spent the rest of our class time working on our new inquiry unit on
flight by exploring the properties of air. There were 10 centres set up around
our classroom. At each one, students had to consider the question being asked,
make a hypothesis, conduct the experiment, record their observations, and make
a conclusion. This meant that students repeated the steps of the scientific method
each time. By the end of the day, the classroom looked like a party had taken
place and I think quite a lot of learning and fun.
Some
students attended ArtReach today, while others attended music and French class.
Entries for
the Polar Expressions Writing competition were mailed off today. Good luck
everyone.
