Judaism

We began our day with a math lesson on relating distance, time, and speed. Students used given data to create tables, graphs, Input/Output machines and find average speed. Students made good progress on practice questions in class. They are asked to complete the questions on p. 394 & 395 of the MMS textbook. Students are bringing 1- cm grid paper home with them. Students will be writing a unit test on Tuesday, May 26.

It was then time for our inquiry unit, Religion Rules! We had a discussion on what we learned about Christianity from yesterday's guest speaker Pastor Andrew Wood. Students took class time to record their learning and to address our central idea and lines of inquiry as they relate to Christianity. We then focused on Judaism. We watched two videos to help us understand this religion:

We paused the videos frequently in order for students to discuss and record their learning and how our central idea and lines of inquiry relate to Judaism.

Today we got to visit the MYP students to be an audience  for a couple of Grade 10 students as they presented their personal projects. The personal project is the  Grade 10 equivalent of exhibition, but it is done independently instead of collaboratively  in a group.

Grade 6s attended Drama, French, and Gym class today.

Tomorrow is the last day to order ice cream sundaes and lunches for June.

Parents are reminded that this Friday is a PD Day for teachers. There is no school for students.
