SJA students supported anti-bullying with a wonderful
display of pink. MYP students led the school in house games that involved
cooperation between houses.
We began our day with a math lesson on equivalent ratios. Students
learned to solve problems involving equivalent ratios using pictures, tables
(skip counting), and multiplication. Many students got half way through the
practice work. Students are asked to complete the remaining questions on p. 326
& 327 of the MMS textbook for homework. Students will be writing a unit
test on Wednesday, April 15.
In today's inquiry time, students read the revised draft of
their paragraph to their group. The group reflected on whether changes that
were requested yesterday were made. Students then edited and peer-edited the
paragraphs for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Each student
wrote an edited draft of their paragraph. Students then got together to brainstorm
what should be included in the introduction. They then worked together to write
the first draft of the introduction. Many groups had meetings with their
mentors and received additional feedback on their work. Some students had to
research information that was missing from their paragraphs. Edited drafts of
body paragraphs and rough drafts of introductions are due tomorrow. Students
who did not get done in the time allocated missed specialist classes and
recesses in an effort to catch up. Our goal is to have good copies done by
Friday.

Groups who have had their art ideas approved should begin
bringing in art supplies.
Grade 6s had French, and Gym class today.
