Oral Competition Finals

We enjoyed listening to speeches in the Grade 6 oral competition yesterday morning. Well done to all for their fantastic presentations. Well done to Divyansh for placing first.

Students were challenged to plan their ‘Welcome to _____, Canada’ video by completing their storyboard. The storyboard required students to plan the order of information they will present, decide on images they will use to promote the PEPS features of their chosen province/territory, choose suitable titles for the different scenes in the video, and write a script to accompany each scene, i.e. the narration. Students who completed this work got to start working on creating their video. Laptops are needed on Tuesday as students continue working on their videos.
We continued working on IB portfolios yesterday. Students were called over individually to work on their IB portfolios. A couple of students still need to complete their portfolios.
Students attended math class with Ms. Joseph. In math, students took up the homework on polygons and congruent figures. Ms. Joseph introduced transformations and reviewed the coordinate grid. They discussed the three transformations: translation, reflection and rotation. Students practiced questions from the worksheet to complete the translation of a triangle. For homework they are to complete Q 3 b, c & d from page 258 and the worksheet.
