Formulating a Hypothesis

We began our day together with the final group presenting their projects about the connections between flying devices and society and/or the environment.

Next, we continued working on our Air Show Summative. Students chose their templates with their partners. They also decided what change they would like to investigate in their experiment. We reviewed variables again. Students then generated their question. They were required to make only one change, and include their dependent and independent variable in their question. Questions had to be approved before students could proceed to the next step: formulate a hypothesis. When stating their hypothesis students again and to describe the cause and effect relationship between their independent and dependent variables. In addition they had to provide a reason for their opinion. Once this was done, students could move on to identifying their variables, listing their materials, and recording their procedures. Any incomplete work should be completed for homework.

Students attended French and math class today. For math homework they are to complete Q. 1 – 8 on p. 137 & 138.

We had a Christmas concert rehearsal at the end of the day.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
