Conducting the Trials

We spent all our time together working on our flight summative task. In the morning, students folded and prepared their planes and prepared their data collection charts. In the afternoon we went outside to the turf, where students conducted all their trials. We were fortunate to have mild weather which made this a much more pleasant experience compared to what it has been like in the past two years.

 

At the end of the day, students calculated the average distance each plane traveled and began working on graphing their results. As we have done previously, students will use spreadsheets to do this, either Google Sheets or Excel. Some students have already completed and emailed me their graphs. Students will receive about 20 minutes of class time to finish this up tomorrow if they did not get done in class today. Students have the option of printing their graphs in colour at home. Printouts must be brought to school tomorrow as they are needed for the next step – analyzing the results.

Students attended French and math class today.

Homework and Reminders

Email me your graphs (or share them with me) if you have completed them OR print them out in colour (if you prefer) and bring the printouts to school tomorrow

Laptops are needed tomorrow if you have not completed your graphs.

Christmas concert form and payment are past due.

Bring spending money for tomorrow’s bake sale.

Bring $2 if you are participating in tomorrow’s Galaxy Dress Up as part of the Book Fair. We will be visiting the Book Fair tomorrow.

Do your French homework as per Mme. Stella’s instructions.
