In today's math time we focused on strategies to solve
problems. We used charts and 'guess and check' as our main ways of solving
problems. Some of the problems we tackled were very tricky. Everyone got their
practice work done in class and no one is expected to take math home today.
In our inquiry time, students were allocated their last
class time to find an internet source about their science fair topic and make
jot notes. We discussed how students should use a graphic organiser to organise
their research paper. One example is a web organiser. Students are expected to
write a 3-5 paragraph research paper. They have been assigned the completion of
the organiser for homework so we can start working on writing the paragraphs
tomorrow.
Grade 6s attended Drama, French, and Gym class today.

- Friday, Oct. 10 is a PD Day for teachers - there is no school for students
- Monday, Oct. 13 is Thanksgiving Day - there is no school
- After Care invoices were sent home on Friday. Please send payment by cash, cheque (made payable to St. Jude's Academy), or on-line plastique website (please note additional banking fees may apply.) Payments are due by Oct. 17th, after this date late fees will be applied. Please keep in mind after-care begins at 3:45 and ends at 6. If your child is in a program that starts at 4 they will be charged (as stated on program sign up page) for the time before their program (3:45 - 4:00pm).
