Equations

During this morning's convocation, we heard which students were being acknowledged for being inquirers. Well done to Bryan for being nominated by his Grade 6 classmates. Students also participated in a fun balloon race. Well done to Zeta for winning both the student and teacher category. We heard that KIP is in the lead for the house cup, followed by Theta and then Zeta.

In today's math time we took up all questions assigned from yesterday's homework. For today's lesson we learned the definition of an equation as well as how to solve equations. Students sometimes did this by using the inverse operation. Most students made an excellent start with their practice questions.

In our inquiry time, students continued working on their jot notes in class.

In language, we continued examining more samples of student report writing. Grade 6s pointed out strengths and weaknesses  they saw in the samples. We now have sufficient criteria for our class anchor chart on report writing. Students will be writing their reports next week.

Grade 6s attended Drama, French and Gym class today.
