Ambassador's Tea Party

Here are some pictures from the exhibition work we did yesterday.

What a colourful student body we had at school today for Character Day. Mr. Whetstone led us in two fun house games. The premise of the games was that Mr. Whetstone gave each house a book title. Houses used students from their house to create a ‘picture’ of the book cover that matched the given title. Students from Grade 6 then told a story to match the book title. Well done to Zeta, Kappa, and Theta for coming in first, second, and third respectively in the first game. Well done to Theta, Zeta, and Kappa for coming in first, second, and third respectively in the second game.
House games were followed by French class with Mme. Stella. Students have been assigned French homework that is due on Thursday.
Students then attended math class with Ms. Joseph. Ms. Joseph completed going over problems from the review worksheet on applications of probability. The probability unit test will be written on Thursday, March 5th. Grade 6s also attended music class with Mr. Oliver and Phys. Ed. Class with Mr. Orr.
We discussed the spelling bee that will be taking place shortly after March Break. We reviewed the rules, the procedure, and how finalists will be chosen. We then had a practice round of a spelling competition. More information about the spelling be will be going home with students later this week.
We had a wonderful time at today’s Ambassador’s Tea party for developing nations. I overheard many great conversations between the ambassadors. Everyone enjoyed the snacks and tea. Thank you to parents for sending in treats.

Our final skiing & snowboarding trip takes place tomorrow. Students are to arrive at 6:45 am for a 7 am departure. Students are to bring all gear, food/$ needed.
Spirit week continues to take place all week. Thursday is Sports Day.

Grade 6 parents are invited to attend an information session about the exhibition. This will take place on Wednesday, March 25th, at 4 pm in the antechamber. Students are welcome to attend too.
