Postcards

We began our day with our list 13 spelling test. Students are bringing these tests home today. Please take time to review it with your child. Also in language, students learned the purpose of writing postcards. The showed their understanding by writing and addressing two postcards. Students wrote a quiz showing what they have learned about letter writing so far.

Math was the next order of the day. The MMS textbook suggested short division as another strategy for division. One day is not enough time to master short division. It is suggested that students use long division as they have been practicing in their arithmetic books to solve division problems where short division is called for.

In arithmetic, students wrote a quiz. There is no arithmetic class work or homework assigned for this weekend.

As a treat and conclusion to our novel study of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory we watched the new movie version starring Johnny Depp. Students noticed many similarities but also differences between the book and the movie.

We ended the day reading with our SK reading buddies.
