Math Review

Students attended Art class with Ms. Kerr and Gym class with Ms. Lovan.

We began our day as usual with writing. Students who have completed their adventure story and have had it edited by a peer and teacher are working on typing up their next copy. Students who are still not done their first draft worked through first recess to get caught up. Typed-up copies are to be printed off and handed in to me by Wednesday or emailed to me by Wednesday.

In math, Grade 6s were challenged to complete review questions 10 – 13 in class. The review work is coming home with students today to help them prepare for tomorrow’s test.

Students met in groups to discuss chapter 10 of The Lightning Thief.  Students had class time and some used recess time to read chapter 11. For homework, they are asked to reflect on chapter 11 using the role they were assigned today. We will have our next literature circles group meeting on Monday.

Students are to keep working on their cars. All students are asked to bring in their car to have the final conference on the testing phase by this Wednesday.

Our inquiry time took place at the end of the day. We continued reading from The Greek Gods where we read about Artemis. We took up Friday’s assigned activity pages on Greece. Students are reminded to bring in supplies for tomorrow’s symposium:

Bread – Titus, Abel, Justin, Calvin

Figs (dried) – Rohan, Dev

Grape Juice – Siheon, Ibrahim

Cheese (goat & feta) – Bhoovi

Students then sat with their partner and researched ancient Greece using books and graphic organizers.

Look out for a trip letter from Ms. Lovan and a fundraising letter from the Parent Guild coming home today.
