Data Management

We began our day with math where we began a new unit on data management. Today's lesson was about interpreting data. Students examined and interpreted bar, circle, and line graphs. They learned that circle graphs are useful for comparing data, while line graphs are used to show changes over time. They used the information in the graphs to make inferences. They are asked to complete practice questions on p. 170 & 171 of the MMS textbook.

In our inquiry unit on the human body, students shared what they had learned about the circulatory system yesterday. Students added additional notes to the notes they had already made. Ask your child to tell you what they learned about the structure and function of the circulatory system. Students are bringing home models of the heart to cut out.  Please do NOT colour the heart models. We will be doing this in class. Cut outs are due at school tomorrow.

Students then worked on their digestive system graphic stories. I began conferencing with students today about their persuasive writing.

Grade 6s attended French class today. They also rehearsed for the Christmas concert.

Students who have not yet signed up for the ArtReach activity on Friday, may still do so. Please send in your form and payment as soon as possible.

Students are bringing home a Tradition Tree ornament. They are asked to write about ways that they celebrate traditions at home and then decorate the ornament.
