Our Friday began with a whole lot of house spirit and games.
The assembly this morning was filled with a sea of blue, green, and orange.
Students participated in a variety of house games, such as having Mr. Sawatsky
select the best decorated house cup (Zeta won), arranging our whole house from
shortest to tallest (Kappa won) or in a boy/girl pattern (Zeta won), to a hula
hoop contest for students (Kappa & Zeta tied) and teachers (Kappa won). It
was a lot of fun and a great way to start the day.
In class worked hard and now can report that we have dreary
reading, writing, and math assessments out of the way (for a little bit) in the
first three days of school. Well done 6s! Students completed the comprehension
portion of their DRAs by reading their books and responding to prompts.
Students also updated their IB Portfolio covers.
We finalised our Essential Agreement for this year. This
year’s class has come up with great ideas for the agreement. Thank you to Emaan
for accepting the nomination to write our Essential Agreement up neatly for us.
Once she has done this, I will post a picture for all to see.
Students had their first class with Ms. Joseph. They wrote a
pre-assessment test to demonstrate their knowledge of math concepts. Math
lessons (and math homework will begin on Monday).
We had a bit more fun getting to know each other by playing
Two Truths and a Lie.
Students attended a little bit of French class (which was
cut short due to the house game) and gym class.
