Valentine's Spirit Day

Students enjoyed spirit day games during this morning’s assembly.

When in class they worked to complete their research to compare Canada and the USA in terms of PEPS features.

Students who completed this task got to work on art. They chose from the tutorials below or a tutorial of their choosing and worked on a pencil sketch of a city or country scape using one-point perspective.

At the end of the day, we got to watch students’ ‘Welcome to _____, Canada’ video.

Students attended French class with Mme. Stella and math class with Ms. Joseph. In math, students reviewed tiling patterns and took up yesterday’s homework. A figure tiles a plane when it covers a surface with no gaps or overlaps and the vertices are at 360 degrees. They also discussed the review worksheet. For today’s homework, students are to complete the review worksheet. Reminder - The tentative date for the unit test is Thursday, February 20.

The next Caribou contest will be taking place Wednesday, February 26th, 2020. Students are to arrive at 7:15 am for a 7:30 am start. They should bring their own charged devices.
The interactive question for Grades 2-10 will be Bomb Defuser and for Grade 11/12 it will be GeomeTree requiring a construction involving lines and circles. Because Caribou’s GeomeTree site can be used to solve the interactive question, this site will be blocked at noon on Tuesday, February 25^th. Both interactive questions are accessible from Caribou’s Games/History page. Contact Caribou directly if you have any problems with the games. There will be no history question in the February contest.

March Lunches 

The lunch site is now open. It will close on Wednesday, February 26^th, at 3:00pm sharp. The special of the month is French Toast with Whipped Cream and Syrup. All payments are to be made through QuickBooks by March 6^th.

Scholastic flyers are coming home today.
