Students wrote
their UOI test and then had an hour of class time to finish up their research on
connections between flying devices and society and/the environment. They used a
checklist to ensure they are meeting criteria. At the end of the day they had
an hour to work on and practice their presentation. Final presentations will
take place on Wednesday.

We made a
little more progress with our hot air balloon art projects. Students painted a
white coat of paint on their balloons to create a blank canvas. This will help
them tomorrow when they draw and then paint their balloon design. Students are
to come to school in old painting clothes tomorrow (not uniforms). Students are
to choose/create a traditional, festive design idea that they are ready to use
tomorrow.
Grade 6s
attended French class with Mme. Stella and math class with Ms. Joseph. In math they
added fractions with different denominators by finding equivalent fractions
with the same denominator. Students are reminded to use the LCM to find the
common denominator. The steps for adding fractions is as follows:
Step 1: Find the least common multiple (LCM) for the denominators.Step 2: Convert the fractions into equivalent fractions with the same denominator (LCM).
Step 3: Add the numerators and keep the denominators the same.
Step 4: Reduce or convert to mixed numbers, if required. For homework, they are to complete Q 4-8 on Page 130.
The lunch site is now open for December lunches. It will close Wednesday,
November 20th at 3:00pm. Special of the month: Spaghetti and Meatballs which is
available every Friday. All payments are to be made through QuickBooks by
December 6th.
