Today was a
happy day for students because they got to work on their electric cars. One
student experienced a lot of success with a car that moved more than a metre.
Everyone celebrated with this student.
We quickly
reviewed the form of a limerick during language time. Students then worked on
writing their own limerick independently. If their limerick met all the
criteria of correct form, they proceeded to work on another limerick. By the
end of class time, some students were still working on their first limerick
while some were beginning their second or even third limerick.
We had novel
study time today. Students met in groups to discuss Chapter 12 of The City of Ember. There was no time for
reading in class. Students should complete the reading of Chapter 13 and
complete their response for homework. Our next discussion takes place tomorrow.
Students
attended French, and math classes today. In math, students took
up their homework on comparing ratios. They then worked on the application of
ratios starting with comparing heights. Students are reminded that can make comparisons
only when the units are the same. They also reviewed conversion of units.
Students completed question 1 from the textbook. For homework, students are to
complete Q. 4 & 5 on page 60.
Presentation
time has arrived. A number of groups presented their energy summative projects
today. We will continue with this tomorrow.
Students
should continue their research on Madagascar. Please have this ready to share
with the class on Tuesday. Remember to research and prepare a traditional dish
from Madagascar for International Day. Let me know when you have decided on a
dish.
Friday is a
PD Day for teachers. There is no school for students. Students are required to
wear their winter uniform on Tuesday after the long weekend.
