A hula-hoop
house game was a fun way to start the day before a long weekend. All students
participated. Well done to Kappa for winning the primary game and to Theta for
winning the junior game.
We started
our day with the last two groups presenting their generating station and uranium
power projects. We have had an enjoyable time listening to all the presentations,
with each group having their own distinct flavour. The feedback from the class
has been thoughtful and encouraging.
We had a
little bit of language time where students finished up the limerick they were
working on yesterday. The remaining language time was used for novel study. Students
met in groups to discuss Chapter 13 of The
City of Ember. There was no time for reading in class. Students should complete
the reading of Chapter 14 and complete their response for homework. Our next
discussion takes place on Tuesday.
Students
attended French, music, gym, and math classes today. In addition, most of the
class participated in or supported today’s intermural soccer game where Kappa
went up against Zeta. Well done to both teams. Kappa won 1-0.
In math, (coming soon)
For
homework, students are to complete the mid-unit review.
Students
should continue their research on Madagascar. Please have this ready to share
with the class on Tuesday. Remember to research and prepare a traditional dish
from Madagascar for International Day. Let me know when you have decided on a
dish. International Day takes place on Thursday, November 17 from 2:30 pm – 3:15
pm. We look forward to seeing families at this event.
Tomorrow is
a PD Day for teachers. There is no school for students. Students are required
to wear their winter uniform on Tuesday after the long weekend.
Have a
lovely long weekend everyone!
