We began our
day with our inquiry into flight. Students wrote the test on Bernoulli’s
Principle Once the test was done, students began an inquiry into building a
flying devices that could fly at least 5 m, do tricks such as loops and turns,
and land next to a target. They were provided with building materials, time to
build, and time to test. They reflected on what their flying device was best at
and placed the device at that station. Students then visited each station to
observe what all the flying devices at each station had in common. This
provided a clue on why the planes were able to fly in a way to meet the
requirements. Students then reflected on how they would build their planes
differently.
Remaining
class time was used to work on science fair. Students could go out to first
recess if they had completed their projects in entirety. Four students have now
completed the whole science fair project.
The class
continued working on their Polar Expressions short story submission as per the criteria
discussed last week. One student completed their draft and found someone to
complete a peer review for him.
Grade 6s
attended gym, French and math today.
Curling trip
permission and waiver forms are now past due.
