We had a
wonderful time at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum today. Grade 6s were
very knowledgeable when questioned about the properties of air, Bernoulli’s
Principle, forces of flight, and the movement of planes caused by controllable
surfaces. We were lucky to get the opportunity to see planes such as the
Lancaster bomber and others being moved about the museum. We even got to board
the DHC-5A Buffalo and heard about the nine Canadian men who were killed while
trying to deliver food to hungry people.
For tomorrow’s
class, students are reminded to bring their devices. The following homework is
due tomorrow: alliteration and metaphors worksheets, analysis of ‘The Flying
Machine’ and background research on the characteristics of paper planes that
fly the farthest.
Students are
reminded that they will be writing a math unit test tomorrow.
After-care
payments are past today and interest is accruing. The lunch ordering system for
December is open.
There is gym
class tomorrow.
