Fold'n Fly
Our day began
with our summative. We had a few learning goals to achieve as follows:
Learning Goal: Students write a question and a hypothesis.
Success Criteria: My hypothesis …
- Is a statement that includes the effect of the
independent variable on the dependent variable
- Is an expression of what I think and may the same
or different to my partner’s.
- Is recorded in my flight report.
Learning Goal: Students write a procedure for their investigation
into what makes the best paper plane.
Success Criteria: My procedure …
- Identifies all variables
- Identifies the plane template/name
- Describes all changes that will be made to the
plane/s
- Describes what will be measured
- Describes the number of trials
- Includes a list of all materials
- Includes detailed step-by-step instructions on
constructing the plane or a copy of the instructions or link to
instructions
The goal was
for students to complete their question, hypothesis, and variables and receive
feedback on their work. They also worked on the remainder of their procedure as
well as building their planes for testing tomorrow. Students will be recording the
results of their trials in a chart. They were required to prepare the chart
today. We anticipate cold weather tomorrow. If the wind is mild, we will be
testing our planes outdoors. Students should dress warmly for this activity.
Devices are needed for tomorrow’s class.
After-care
payments are past today and interest is accruing. The lunch ordering system for
December is open.
Students
attended math and gym class today. In math, students wrote their unit test.
Picture
retakes take place tomorrow.
