Grade 6s attended French class with Mme. Villeneuve and Gym
class with Ms. Lovan this morning.
We used our writing time to work on our design reflection # 2
where students explained how vehicles can be changed to make them
environmentally friendly. Some students are right on track, but some are behind
with their procedure writing, post-construction sketches, and design reflection
#1. Students who are behind remained in class during first recess to get caught
up. Those who are still not caught up are asked to catch up this work as
homework. In preparation for tomorrow’s reflection, students are asked to research
the advantages and disadvantages of battery-operated vehicles.
In math, we spent more time discussing Friday’s graphing homework
and yesterday’s coordinate work. We then began a new lesson on scatter plots. Students
had difficulty understanding this work and we did not have much class time to
address student concerns. As a result, we will continue this lesson on Thursday
after tomorrow’s skating trip. If all goes according to plan, we should be
ready to write the unit test next Thursday, November 26.
We did not have literature circle time today, as students
were in an assembly at this time.
We ended the day with students breaking into their UOI
groups to research their ancient civilization. I visited with each group to
check on their progress.
